Timothy Spall narrates a documentary following five young people with Tourette syndrome as they spend a week in a US summer camp with other young people who share their behaviour, which is characterised by involuntary movements and noises. What are the challenges of living with Tourettes, and will the teenagers leave better equipped to deal with their condition?

I have mild …
I have mild tourette’s: just facial grimaces, a lot of tics around the eyes, and a lot of shoulder shrugging, so humming and throat clearing. I think the worst tics are the self injuring ones. My nephew’s doctor had one patient who compulsively tapped one eye over and over. He couldn’t stop and eventually went blind in that eye.
I have to say, though, that the full on verbal tics are pretty rare. I’ve never known anyone, never had a student, with the coprolalia.

i agree. the swearing ones r just pathetic. the actual syndrome does not say anything about swearing or getting a high pitched voice and saying “bomb” or “nigger” . it says the ppl that do have it will have such syndromes like the last kid in this video. NOTHING ABOUT SWEARING. i do feel sry for the kids in the vid but not as much for the ones that swear. its pathetic. MOST (not all!!!!) just want attention. this is the truth. look it up if u dont believe me.
